6th April 2010 changes have considerable impact for employers, ‘new employment rules being introduced’ to replace the present sick notes.
When an employee is absent from work for over a firstweeks absence, they went to the GP’s, for a ‘sick note’. However, the new style medical documents, which will be titled Statements of Fitness for Work,’ so the employer may well find they do not know how to deal with the doctors documentation stating may be fit to return to work’ if ‘amended duties’ or ‘altered hours’ or ‘workplace adaption’s, under the new rules a doctor may write their own suggested adjustment, for the ‘fit note’ for the employee’s, substantial numbers of employers will be caught out by these new Regulations.
